Ukulele Buddies have partnered with The Ukulele Project, Southport Library , Formby library, Crosby library and The Atkinson Development Trust to launch the Ukulele lending and teaching scheme here in Southport, Formby and Crosby.
You will be able to loan a ukulele in soprano, concert or tenor size (that’s small, medium or large) and left handed versions, from Southport library in The Atkinson and Formby library in the same way that you borrow a book, all you need is a Sefton library card. Loans will also be available from Crosby library from 8th February 2025
Each loan will come with a introduction guide to give you information on how to play your ukulele, songsheets, where you can buy a ukulele, find a teacher, or a local strumalong / open mic session or group. A limited number of free beginners courses will be made available through the libraries.
Follow up and Intermediate teaching courses are running across the region, led by expert tutor Karine Woodward (Kari Uke).
If you want to attend one of these courses and don't have a ukulele you can borrow one from Southport, Formby or Crosby library.
